Saskatchewan Student Loans
As the name implies, student loans are a temporary financial aid for students who are pursuing a higher level of education. If you live in the Saskatchewan area, there are three types of loans that you can apply for. The first one is private loans which are available through banks or financial institutions. The second type of loan that you can apply for is the federal loan offered by the province of Saskatchewan. The third type of loan is available through the National Student Loan Service Centre or the Canada Student Loan Lender – which offers student loans on a national level.
If you wish to apply for federal loans, you can take advantage of the Canada-Saskatchewan Integrated Student Loan. The good thing about this type of loan is that even though you actually have two separate loans which are offered on the provincial and national level, the two loans are integrated. This means that there is only one loan that needs to be paid off when repayment time comes. Remember that student loans are usually due six months after you stop attending school – whether you have employment by that time or not.
One last thing that you need to remember when applying for student loans in Saskatchewan is that all the paperwork should be submitted several weeks before the school starts – so that you can gain access to the funds and have everything that you need for your first day in the school or university that you will be attending.
